4. Instrument Setup
• Thecontactspring(44) has to touch the igni-
tion wire (45) of the lamp after being inserted.
• Swingthereflectordownwards.Reinsertand
retighten screw (49).
• Closelid(4) of the instrument again.

Caution!
If the lamp electrodes are inserted the
wrong way, the flash bulb will still
work, but the lifetime will be signifi-
cantly reduced.
• Inserttheshieldingglass(85) in the two hold-
ers (86).
• Insert thenewflash bulbintosocket(46)
(Fig. 21); then push it carefully inwards as far
as it will go (Fig. 22) (the polarity marker (+)
must not be visible any longer). If necessary,
move flash bulb gently up and down.
• Important!Makesurethatthenewflashbulb
is inserted correctly – the lamp electrode
(47) marked with a + must be inserted into
the socket (46) that bears the same mark (48)
(Fig. 21).
