Resetting Factory Defaults
Purpose
The Set Factory Default Utility returns all the current settings to the factory
“as shipped settings” for the currently active parameter set. For information
on parameter sets see “Setting the Active Parameters Option” in the Printer
Setup Defaults section of this manual.
WARNING: As this reset procedure is IRREVERSIBLE, before performing
the procedure, save a record of your current settings by printing out a
complete Test Print set (ALL) under Test Prints in the UTILITIES main menu
of the Printer Control Panel.
PATH TO SET FACTORY DEFAULTS
At the Printer Control Panel when the display shows <IDLE>, press [ON-
LINE]. W
hen the display shows <PAUSED>, press [ENT
ER]. W
hen the
display shows <UTILITIES>, press [NEXT] until <SYSTEM
ADMINISTRATION> is displayed. Press [ENTER] and, using the numeric
keypad, input the required “password,” then press [ENTER] again. If <SET
FACTORY DEFAULTS> is not displayed, press [NEXT] until it is. Press
[ENTER] to reset your settings to their factory defaults. Press either [EXIT] to
escape, or [ENTER] to confirm and begin the resetting process.
WAIT 60 seconds for the resetting to take place.
EXITING THE SET FACTORY DEFAULT UTILITY
Press the [ON-LINE] key to put the printer back on line.
