The List of Specifications does not mean that other items that need repair may
not exist, and this specification is not intended to be exhaustive. We approach
each property to review for hazards, weatherization energy efficiency, lead-based
paint, health issues, and repairs requested within the allowable budget
restrictions.
Any new work shall be in compliance with the specifications and with the current
Building, Electrical, Plumbing, and/or Mechanical Residential Code. Appropriate
permits, inspections and fees are required.
In order to provide guidance for the property owner and contractors when
conducting any renovation, maintenance, or potential future disturbance of
painted surfaces, they should refer to the manual developed by HUD titled “Lead
Paint Safety: A Field Guide for Painting, Home Maintenance, and Renovation
Work.” This manual can be found for free on the Internet at
Http://www.hud.gov/offices/lead/training/LBPguide.pdf. Please download a copy
of this manual before disturbing any painted surfaces within the residence. If
access to the Internet is not available, you may order a copy at 1 (800) 424-5323.
Contractors are responsible to apply and pay for all permits. The City’s 24-hour
inspection line is (586) 447-3344. The contractor is to supply the City with a
certificate of insurance for general liability, workmen’s compensation, and vehicle
insurance.

THE WORK CONSISTS OF THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. CONTRACTORS
ARE RESPONSIBLE TO MAKE THEMSELVES FAMILIAR WITH ALL OF THE
DOCUMENTS AND BE RESPONSIBLE TO COMPLETE ALL OF THE WORK.
