Wedding Photography
There is something special about being a wedding
photographer. I get to capture a range of emotions,
to tell a story from start to finish. The EOS-1Ds Mark II
lets me move effortlessly from a dark church to the
bright outdoors, from a wedding breakfast to an
evening reception. Wherever the celebrations move
on to, my Canon lenses help me achieve the quality
I need. The camera has a very acute sense of what a
picture should look like - it has a great management
system that adjusts and refines everything, which is
really useful when there’s a lot going on and so many
different things to catch. You can never guarantee
anything at a wedding, but I know I can rely on my
equipment to get me through any situation.

The CMOS Advantage
Canon's CMOS sensor technology
offers several advantages over
traditional CCD sensors. CMOS sensors
use less power than other sensor
types. Amplifiers at each CMOS sensor
pixel site vastly speed up the process
of getting the signal to the image
processor. Low-noise performance
means that even at high ISO speeds
resolution and quality are not
compromised, while on-chip circuitry
reduces remaining fixed pattern and
random noise to enable shooting at
speeds up to ISO 3200 (equivalent).
A low-pass filter in front of the sensor
suppresses the false colour and moiré
that can affect high-resolution digital
photography. The large pixel sizes
on Canon's CMOS sensors allow for
a wider dynamic range, so that
images retain greater contrast and
detail in shadow and highlight areas.
