CRANKCASE BREATHER (HEAT
EXCHANGER COOLED ENGINES)
The crankcase breathers are mounted on
the side of each thermostat housing and are
connected to the engine via an extension
pipe and bend fitted on each side of the
gearcase (see Fig. 37). To clean a breather,
unscrew the cap see Fig. 36 by turning anti-
clockwise and wash it thoroughly. Shake it
as dry as possible, blow dry with
compressed air and screw it firmly back into
position.
