Degrees of protection
The motors can be supplied with the
following degrees of protection in ac-
cordance with IEC 60034-5
IP 23
Protected against spraying water
within 60° from the vertical and
contact with live parts by fingers or
objects larger than 12 mm. Normally
for indoor use.
IP 54
Protected against dust, splashing
water from any direction and contact
with live parts.
For use in dusty and/or humid en-
vironments. If used outdoors, suit-
able protection against storm winds
carrying foreign material should be
provided.
When ambient temperatures below
0 °C can be expected, the risk of ice
formation on fan blades and in cool-
ing ducts must be taken into consid-
eration.
IP 55
Protected against dust, jets of water
from any direction and contact with
live parts.
For use in exposed locations, out-
doors or indoors. Where tropical
storms occur, the motor should be
enclosed within screen walls and a
roof to provide protection against fly-
ing debris.
When ambient temperatures below
0 °C can be expected, the risk of ice
formation on fan blades and in cool-
ing ducts must be taken into consid-
eration.

Protection contre les projections d’eau
jusqu’à 60° de la verticale et contre le

12 mm. Normalement pour utilisation
intérieure.
IP 54
Protection contre la poussière, les pro-
jections d’eau dans n’importe quelle
direction et le contact avec les parties
sous tension.
Pour utilisation dans les environn-
ements poussiéreux et/ou humides.
En cas d’utilisation extérieure, prévoir
une protection appropriée contre les
vents porteurs de débris volants.
Lorsque des températures ambiantes
inférieures à 0 °C sont à prévoir, tenir
compte du risque de formation de gi-
vre sur les pales de ventilateur et dans
les conduits de refroidissement.
IP 55
Protection contre la poussière, les jets
d’eau dans n’importe quelle direction
et le contact avec les parties sous
tension.
Pour utilisation dans les emplace-
ments exposés, à l’extérieur ou à l’in-
térieur. En cas de tempête tropicale,
la machine doit être enfermée dans
une enceinte grillagée munie d’un toit
pour assurer la protection contre les
débris volants.

vre sur les pales de ventilateur et dans

Schutz gegen Sprühwasser bis 60°
von der Senkrechten und Berührung
rotierender oder unter Spannung ste-
hender Teile mit den Fingern oder mit
Fremdkörpern über 12 mm. Normal
für Verwendung in Innenräumen mit
trockner, wenig verunreinigter Luft.
IP 54
Schutz gegen schädliche Staubab-
lagerung und Spritzwasser aus allen
Richtungen sowie vollständiger Berüh-
rungsschutz.
Für Verwendung unter staubigen und/
oder feuchten Umweltbedingungen.
Bei Aufstellung im Freien ist für ent-
sprechenden Schutz gegen Unwetter
und dergleichen zu sorgen.
Sind Temperaturen unter 0 °C zu er-
warten, muß das Risiko der Vereisung
von Lüfterflügeln und Kühlkanälen
beachtet werden.
IP 55
Schutz gegen schädliche Staubab-
lagerung und Strahlwasser aus allen
Richtungen sowie vollständiger Berüh-
rungsschutz.
Für Verwendung in ausgesetzten
Bereichen in Innenräumen oder im
Freien. Wo tropische Stürme vor-
kommen, sind Abschirmungen und
Überdachungen zum Schutz gegen
fliegende Teile vorzusehen.
Sind Temperaturen unter 0 °C zu er-
warten, muß das Risiko der Vereisung
von Lüfterflügeln und Kühlkanälen
beachtet werden.
