Battery removal & replacement
The battery is located in the luggage compartment. Before
disconnecting the battery, removethe starterkey and switch off all
electricalequipment.
1. Release the securing strap and removethe battery cover.
2. Disconnect the battery leads.Always disconnect the negative(-)
terminal beforethe positive(+) terminal.When reconnecting,
connect the positiveterminalfirst.
3. Slacken the nuts securing the battery clamp (arrowed in
illustration).Swing the clamp away from the battery, and
remove the battery.
Only fit a replacementbattery of the same type, size and
specificationas the original.Other batteries may not fit the battery
compartment in the luggage floor, or may have differentterminal
positions, which could create a fire hazardif the terminalsor battery
leads were to come into contact with the battery clamp.

Used batteries are potentially
dangerous; dispose at
authorised waste sites only.
After battery disconnection, the
handset may need to be
re-synchronised (see ’Handset
battery’).
After battery disconnection, the
radio display may show ’CODE’.
Enter the radio security code to
restore operation (see ’In-car
Entertainment’ book).
WARNING!
For safety, remove metal
wrist bands and jewellery.
DO NOT allow tools or
metal parts of the car to
make contact with the
battery terminals.
