Silverado heavy-duty pickups already had a hard-earned
reputation for capability and dependability. With the
introduction last year of the new generation Silverado HD,
even more was expected. And it delivers – as the most
powerful HD on the planet.* There are two technologically
advanced engines in the lineup: the 353 hp Vortec 6.0L V8,
and the available Duramax® 6.6L V8 Turbo Diesel that
produces 365 hp and a ground-breaking 660 lb.-ft. of torque.
Both engines are mated with their own specific six-speed
automatic transmission that includes tap-up/tap-down shift
controls. And with enormous power output comes mammoth
hauling capabilities, including a fifth wheel towing capacity
of 7484 kg (16,500 lb.).
