ADDING DETERGENT
ADDING DETERGENT AND
OTHER PRODUCTS
1. Pull out the detergent drawer. Depending on
the model, the detergent drawer may have
three or four compartments.
2. Pour in the detergent
x Programmeswithprewash
x Main wash only
For liquid detergent:
Remove the coloured insert out of the
dispenser and fit it in compartment
.
The graduated scale on the siphon shows
the dosage.
x Fabric softeners, etc.
(no more than the “max” mark [3
compartments] or up to “100 ml” [4
compartments])
x Bleaching agents (if compartment is
present)
(no more than the “max” mark)
x Stain removers
x Water-softeners
(water hardness categories 3 and 4)
x Starch (dissolved in water)
3. Bleach
Liquid bleach (hypochlorite) can be used in
two different ways:
A. Conventional method
x Pour bleach into dispenser compartment
(dependent on model).
x Add detergent to main wash dispenser
compartment
.
x Select a programme and temperature and
start the appliance.
Detergent and bleach are automatically
delivered to the laundry at the appropriate
time:
detergent is added to the main wash,
while bleach is added during the second
cold rinse.
B. Pre-bleach method
x Fit the coloured insert out of the dispenser
into main wash compartment
and
pour in liquid bleach (no more than 120
ml).
x Select the rapid programme 4 (Cotton-
Synthetics).
x Set the temperature selector knob to
“MIN”.
Important:
Do not select a higher temperature than
“MIN” because this could damage your
laundry or appliance.
x Start the appliance.
Youcandoanormalwashafterthis“pre-
bleach” cycle, adding more laundry that does
not require bleach treatment. Add detergent
to the main wash dispenser compartment
and start a wash programme. Because
heavily soiled articles have already been
given a pre-bleach treatment, you can use a
lower temperature for the main wash and
save on power consumption.
If the appliance does not have the specific
bleach compartment
only the pre-bleach
method is possible.
Important:
Use bleach only when washing bleachable
fabrics.
4. Close the detergent drawer completely.
