You may not have selected
the correct paper type in
the printer software.
Windows PC
• Make sure you have selected the correct paper type on the
Setup
tab of Printer Properties.
Macintosh
• Make sure you have selected the correct paper type on the
Paper Type/Quality
panel.
You may need to clean the
print cartridges.
See “Cleaning the print cartridges” on page 70.
Your print cartridges may
be out of alignment.
Windows PC
• If the color and black ink are not lining up on the printed page,
go to the
Printer Services
tab of the
HP PhotoSmart Toolbox
and click Calibrate the Printer
.
Macintosh
• If the color and black ink are not lining up on the printed page,
go to the
Calibrate
tab of the
HP PhotoSmart Utility
and click
Align
.
You may be printing in
Draft
mode.
Windows PC
•Click
Normal
or
Best
instead of
Draft
on the
Setup
tab.
Macintosh
• If printing appears faded or dull, click
Normal
or
Best
instead
of
Draft
on the
Paper Type/Quality
panel.
