1.3 SUMMARY AND SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
A. General: Furnish and install all equipment, accessories, and materials in accordance with
these specifications and drawings to provide a complete and operating wireless clock
system.
B. The system shall provide wireless precision time that is synchronized with the existing
ASD server. Each component in the system shall use the synchronized time.
C. The network bell relay shall manage the bell schedules and provide an output to the
intercom system at pre-defined times to initiate the bell/tone function.
D. Timing and operation of the wireless clock system shall be controlled by software
provided residing on the manufacturer-provided hardware appliance (server).
E. The system shall incorporate fail-safe design so that failure of any component shall not
cause failure of the system. Upon restoration of power or repair of failed component, the
system shall resume normal operation without the need to reset the system or any
component thereof.
1.4 REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
A. Conform to all applicable NFPA 70 and FCC requirements.
B. Comply with IEEE Standard 802.11 b/g.
C. All equipment and assemblies shall be Underwriters Laboratories listed and classified if
applicable.
1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. All equipment shall be designed by the manufacturer to function as a complete system
and shall be accompanied by the manufacturer's complete service notes and drawings
detailing all interconnections.
B. Manufacturer: The Manufacturer shall be a nationally recognized company specializing in
commercial wireless timekeeping systems.
C. Installer: The installation organization shall be a company specializing in the installation of
intercom and clock systems and certified by the manufacturer of the submitted system.
