DLNA (Digital Living
Network Alliance) is an
industry standard used to make sharing photos,
music and video simpler. DLNA Certified
BRAVIA models can access common digital files
from Notebook computers, multimedia servers
and even DLNA certified mobile phones. Photos,
music and video playback is as easy as selecting
the corresponding icon within the XMB menu.
Every BRAVIA LCD TV now
features four HDMI connections
(two on the side and two on the
rear) for ample connectivity of
current and future HDMI equipped devices. Using
HDMI reduces cable clutter as both video and
audio signals can be carried using a single cable,
at the highest quality. BRAVIA Sync is provided
on every HDMI input for time-saving control of
other BRAVIA Sync devices, including Digital
cameras, from the television remote control.
Every BRAVIA LCD TV
features an easy access USB
input for fast connection of
devices, including Cyber-shot
and Handycam; allowing photo and video
playback using the television remote control.
Wide file support, such as DivX, MP3 and
JPEG, means digital files stored on portable
devices can be enjoyed on the big screen.
BRAVIA Connectivity BRAVIA LED Backlights
Edge LED
Edge LED allows ultra-slim screen dimensions by arranging high brightness LEDs at the top and bottom of the LCD panel,
rather than behind the screen. A reflecting plate distributes the light evenly across the LCD panel, providing bright, uniform light
distribution across the screen.
Dynamic Edge LED
Dynamic Edge LED maintains the slim design of Edge LED models
and creates deeper blacks without compromising picture quality
in brighter areas. Controlling the light output of individual LED
segments, Dynamic Edge LED backlights reduce the brightness of the LED backlights
in areas of the screen where it is not required, generating higher real contrast ratios and
reducing overall energy consumption.
Intelligent Dynamic LED
Intelligent Dynamic LED advances the low power consumption
and high contrast ratios of Dynamic Edge LED. Intelligent
Dynamic LED places the LED backlights behind the LCD screen to
provide more precise local dimming. This reduces the brightness of the backlight where
it is not required, producing superb blacks and whites precisely where they are needed,
and lowers overall energy consumption. This system also enables backlight blinking for

Motionflow
100Hz
The original Motionflow, this
benchmark 100Hz system
can create and insert frames
to double the frame rate for smooth, natural
motion reproduction. Motionflow
100Hz
was the first motion enhancing technology
to incorporate image enhancement known as
Image Blur (IB) Reduction.
Image Blur Reduction is applied to each
original video frame to reduce any blur caused
during filming, preventing image blur from
being reproduced in the final created sequence
of frames.
Motionflow
PRO 100Hz
Motionflow
PRO 100Hz
uses Black Frame Insertion
technology to prevent the
eye from retaining the after-image of moving
objects on the screen. Using this technique,
improved backlight control and smooth
transitions between frames also creates a natural
viewing experience, and delivers clearer, more
realistic 3D viewing.
Motionflow
PRO 200Hz
Motionflow
PRO 200Hz
builds on the performance
of Motionflow
PRO
100Hz by increasing the frequency of black
frames and adding created video frames to the
signal. This combination prevents the eye from
seeing any residual image between frames
and allows for smoother, more natural motion
reproduction. Black Frame Insertion technology
and LED backlighting control also produce
clearer, more realistic 3D viewing.
Motionflow
PRO 400
Motionflow
PRO 400
uses methods pioneered
in professional film and
cinema displays. Incorporating backlight
blinking across each frame of video (original
& introduced) prevents the eye from retaining
the after-image of moving objects in previous
frames, and delivers the smoothest, most
natural motion while maintaining a bright
overall picture. Like Motionflow
PRO 100Hz
and Motionflow
PRO 200Hz, the backlight
control used by Motionflow
PRO 400 allows
for clearer, more realistic 3D viewing, with
reduced cross talk.
