19.12IMPLEMENTING A NETWORKED
e
maGEN
SYSTEM
Networked
unit
e
systems can share a common
e
maGEN
system.
This requires a few differences in the
unit
e
system configuration
programming at the networked exchanges.
19.12.1 IVM hunt group in a network
Each exchange is part of a network, having one
e
maGEN
system
connected to one of the branches of the network. (For this configu-
ration, it is recommended to allocate several trunks to
e
maGEN
on
a T1 line).
You can program the system so that extensions in any branch of the
network can access
e
maGEN
. At each branch, you will program
two screens, apart from the IVM Hunt Group Screen, and possibly a
third, if different tenants are sharing the
e
maGEN
services:
• Network Prefixes N-P
• System Speed Dial Numbers S-S-N.
• Attendant Definition A-A for tenants sharing an
e
maGEN
sys-
tem.
In the Network Prefixes Screen enter the prefix of the branch of the
network to which
e
maGEN
is connected and that branch’s Route
number.
Alternately, you can choose to use the IVM hunt group DN (see next
paragraph) itself as the prefix, with the proper route number to the
branch of the network to which IVM is connected.
In the IVM Hunt Group Screen in the IVM Hunt Group DN parame-
ter, enter the number of the System speed dial bin that accesses
e
maGEN
.
