Installation surface
A concrete floor is the most suitable
installation surface for a washing machine.
If installed on wooden floorboards there is
a risk of it vibrating during the spin. We
recommend the use of a plywood base
(at least 59 x 52 x 3 cm). It should span
several joists and be bolted to the joists
and not just to the floorboards. Check for
the presence of any pipework and cabling
first. If possible install the machine in a
corner, as this is usually the most stable
part of the floor.
If the washing machine or tumble dryer is to
be installed on a raised plinth, Miele
recommend that only concrete or bricked
plinths be used. The units must be secured
against slippage via retaining clips
available from Miele spare parts. Stacked
units must not be installed on a raised
plinth.
Hinging
The tumble dryers are all supplied
left-hand hinged and the washing
machines and washer dryer are supplied
with right-hand hinging.
Washer and tumble dryer stack
Where space is at a premium, a Miele
tumble dryer can be fitted on top of the
corresponding washing machine by using
the appropriate WTV stacking kit (available
to order). The result is that two appliances
can be accommodated on a footprint of
less than half a square metre.
The W 5000 washing machines and T
8000 tumble dryers can be fitted under a
continuous worktop using the appropriate
UBS – W/T building-under kit (available to
order).
