device. Please refer to the "Converting Eligible GnSNMPDev Models to
New Model Types" section of the "SPECTRUM Installation Guide (6.6
Service Pack Release)" (5136.pdf) for more details.
• If you are managing Motorola Vanguard or Cisco/Stratacom IGX
devices, and you are using SPECTRUM ATM Circuit Manager and/or
SPECTRUM Frame Relay Manager, your existing device models must be
updated. This can be accomplished by manually destroying and re-
creating any Motorola Vanguard or Cisco/Stratacom IGX device models.
If you have a large number of these device models, then you may
choose to contact Aprisma Support to obtain a script
(AdvApp_Migration) that can be run to perform this conversion/update
automatically.
Many improvements have been made to Live Pipes, Port Status Polling,
and Link Trap Handling. Any customer making use of these features,
should review this section carefully, and read the new "Configuring Port
Status Monitoring" section of the "How To Manage Your Network with
SPECTRUM" guide for further details.
- Live Pipes Polling Criteria: Historically, if both ports involved in a Live
Pipe have Polling_Status set to False and Polling_Interval set to 0,
then the link condition would be evaluated every 60 seconds
automatically. Now, the following criteria must be met in order for the
status of a port to be polled:
* The Polling_Status (0x1154f) of the port model must be TRUE.
* The Polling_Interval (0x10071) of the port model must be non-
zero.
* The Polling_Status of the port's device model must be TRUE.
* The device model must not be in Maintenance Mode.
* The port model must not be in Maintenance Mode.
- PollPortStatus Change: The PollPortStatus attribute on device models
now functions differently. Previously, this attribute was just used to
set the PollPortStatus attribute on all the ports of the device. Now,
this attribute controls whether the port models (whose PollPortStatus
attribute is set to TRUE) will be polled or not. For a port to be polled,
both the device's PollPortStatus attribute (0x12809) and the port's
PollPortStatus attribute(0x1280a) must be TRUE.
