FUEL CONSUMPTION
The fuel consumption figures shown below have been calculatedusing a standard testing
procedure (the new EC test procedurefrom Directive93/116/EC), and produced in
accordance with The PassengerCar FuelConsumption (Amendment)Order 1996. Under
normal use, a car’s actualfuel consumptionfigures may differ from those achieved through
the test procedure,depending on drivingtechnique, road and traffic conditions,
environmental factors, vehicleload and condition.

Urban cycle
The urban test cycleis carried out from a cold start and consists of a series of accelerations,
decelerationsand periodsof steady speed driving and engine idling. The maximum speed
attained during the test is 31 mph (50 km/h) with an averagespeed of 12 mph (19 km/h).
Extra-urban cycle
The extra urban test cycleis carriedout immediatelyafter the urban test. Approximatelyhalf
of the test comprisessteady-speeddriving,while the remainder consists of a seriesof
accelerations,decelerationsand engine idling. The maximumtest speed is 75 mph (120
km/h) and the averagespeed 39 mph (63 km/h). The test is carriedout over a distanceof 4.3
miles (7 km).
Combined
The combined figure is an averageof the urban and extra-urbantest cycleresults, which has
been weighted to takeaccount of the different distancescoveredduring the two tests.
NOTE: These figuresshould not be compared with figuresproduced using the ECE/EEC
procedure previouslyrequired by The PassengerCar FuelConsumption Order1983. Because
of the changes in test procedure, even the urban figures would differif the same car were
subjected to both tests.
