Installation instructions
In a Windows environment, the CD-ROM setup or installation software detects the version of the
operating system that you are running. The software is installed in the language that you have selected.
For example, if you are running an English version of Windows and have the language preference set
to Spanish, the installation utility will install the Spanish version of the printing software for the
appropriate Windows version.
Installation options
Use the installation program SETUP.EXE, located on the root of the HP Color LaserJet 1600 CD, to
install the full printing system. This program is supported in Windows XP and Windows 2000.
This installation method adds the following components:
●
HP Color LaserJet 1600 driver.
●
HP Color LaserJet 1600 toolbox. Use this feature to change some printer settings and view
documentation and self-help tools.
●
Printer Status Alerts. This feature within the HP Toolbox alerts you if a job that you sent to
the printer cannot be completed. You can then view the printer status (for example, toner
levels and configuration).
