If you’re restoring a ’70 Chevelle to concours
condition, you work from the ground up. And if
you’re building a great truck, you start with a solid
foundation. Every Silverado features a hydroformed
front frame. Hydroforming – the injection of
hydraulic fluids under extreme high pressure to
reform metal into curved shapes – allows for fewer
welds and better fits. The front portion of the frame is
fully boxed for extra rigidity. The rear portion of the
Silverado frame is fully boxed all the way to the spare
tire cross member, where it becomes a C-channel. The
result? A Crew Cab can haul up to 879 kg (1937 lb.) of
payload with the available MAX Trailering Package.

TWO-TIER LOADING
Silverado was built for work with a stamped pickup box that includes stake
pockets, two-tier loading capability and four cargo tie-downs for convenience
and utility. And the tailgate can be lowered or removed for longer loads.
