How to use this catalog
This catalog is arranged just like the Chevrolet factory parts manuals. That means that we list everything by
its original factory “Group Number”. General Motors came up with their system many years ago: wherein
parts were sorted by the various systems they were part of, or “Groups”. For example, Electrical parts are all
listed under “Group 2.000”. Therefore if you need generator brushes, a starter solenoid, or a distributor cap,
you would turn to the “2.000” section. When you get to the first page of that section, look for exploded view
pictures, in which the various parts are identified with little “call-out” captions, with lines directing your eye to
the picture of the part. The caption will list the number within the “0.000” group. From our examples above,
let's search for a distributor cap. In the exploded views, you‘ll find that the distributor cap is described by
the photo caption as “2.367 Cap”. To find that part in the listings, merely start at the beginning of the 2.000
section and follow numerical order until you get to 2.367, where you will find distributor caps listed. Note that
all distributor caps are listed under that identical Group Number. Within the group, you‘ll find the listing for
your car, and the individual cap that you need will have its own unique part number. Use the part number
only for your order. Group Numbers are solely for organizing the parts within the catalog to make your
searches fast and convenient.
