flexible wireless network. Colleagues can take advantage of high-speed networking services by
exchanging files without the need for floppy disks or by accessing network resources from a
conference room without a network connection. And colleagues can roam between base
stations while maintaining their Internet connection.

Apple brings you wireless Internet access within minutes. AirPort Setup Assistant uses your
active Internet access setting to configure your wireless network settings. Once your computer
is set up, launch your browser and you’re online.
Security
AirPort offers password protection and encryption capabilities to deliver a level of security
comparable to that offered by traditional cabled networks. Users can be required to enter a
password to log on to the wireless network. When transmitting information, AirPort uses 40-bit
encryption to scramble data. In addition, access control and closed network features can be
employed.
