Protocol-Based VLAN Configuration Example
Network requirements
z As shown in Figure 2-2, Workroom connects to the LAN through port Ethernet 1/0/10 on the S3100
switch.
z IP network and AppleTalk network workstations (hosts) coexist in the Workroom.
z The S3100 switch connects to VLAN 100 (using IP network) through Ethernet 1/0/11 and to VLAN
200 (using AppleTalk network) through Ethernet 1/0/12.
z Configure the switch to automatically assign the IP and AppleTalk packets to proper VLANs for
transmission, so as to ensure the normal communication between the workstations and servers.
