The petrol engines of the BMWX5 are built for RON 98 fuel. They may be run on RON 95 fuel with
a slight decrease in power and an increase in fuel consumption. The minimum fuel grade required
is unleaded regular (RON 91). Run the X5 on unleaded regular onlyin exceptional cases, due to the
design and configuration of the engine.

Fuel consumption is determined according to the ECE driving cycle made up of approximately one-
third urban traffic and two-thirds extra-urban driving (measured in terms of distance). Fuel consump-
tion is for models with standard equipment. Optional extras and special equipment (eg roofrack, wider
tyres, additional mirrors) mayhave a significant influence on fuel consumption. CO
2
emissions are
measured in addition to fuel consumption. The X5 3.0i and 4.4i comply with the EU3 (N1-G1)
emission standard. The X5 3.0d complies with the EU3 (N1-G3) emission standard.
The models illustrated in this brochure show the specifications for the German market.
