Three-spoke leather-wrapped multi-
function sport steering wheel offers the
many convenient
functions of the standard
steering wheel, in addition to a distinctive
design element on the lower spoke. Thumb
grips strategically placed at the o’clock
and o’clock positions provide increased
steering control.
Heated steering wheel is a welcome feature
when the temperature drops. At the touch of a
button, the rim heats up quickly to a comfort-
able warmth.
Black Panel Display shows the instrument
cluster as a matte black surface when the
ignition is switched off, with only the chrome
rings of the circular instruments visible in -D.
When the ignition is switched on, the graphics
display lights up, showing the trip computer
and Check Control information; four analog
instruments display speed, rpm, fuel level and
engine oil temperature above a high-res, wide-
format Info Display.
-zone automatic air conditioning builds on
the -zone automatic climate control for the
added comfort of rear-seat passengers. Air
vents in the B-pillar and at the rear of the center
console ensure virtually draftless ventilation.
Additionally, the temperature in both left and
right rear cabin can be tailored via two control
dials with displays.
-zone automatic climate control allows
driver and front passenger to select individual
temperatures and choice of fan speeds, as
well as choose automatic or manual airflow
and recirculation. The automatic recirculation
control activates whenever certain air pollutants
are detected. The system also offers a mist-up
sensor, solar sensor and residual heat use.
Ceramic controls present a deep black glazed
finish on the iDrive Controller bezel, audio
controls, and front and rear ventilation controls.
The black ceramic finish provides a rich,
custom look and a unique feel to the interior.

Driving Dynamics Control allows you to
switch from

Head-up Display projects important travel
information, such as current speed and Check/
Control data, on the windshield directly in the
driver’s line of vision. Directional arrows from
the Navigation system, as well as functions of
BMW Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection,
Lane Departure Warning System, and Active
Cruise Control with Stop & Go (if so equipped)
can also be displayed.
Navigation system features a high-resolution,
glare-free monitor, and uses GPS satellites in
conjunction with data stored on an internal hard
drive. Includes 3-D daytime and nighttime
maps, zoom, travel planner and an Assistance
Window. The system provides Real Time Traffic
Information on potential traffic problems and
solutions. The hard drive offers 12 GB of space
that can hold up to 2,000 of your favorite songs.
Rear-view Camera shows, on the Control
Display, the area behind the vehicle. With Park
Distance Control, interactive guidelines show
if the vehicle will fit into a parking space, and
display parking trajectories and turn angles.
Side- and Top-view Cameras offer visual
assistance when side visibility is limited, such
as exiting a parking garage. The Side-view
Cameras are located on each side of the front
bumper. The Top View consists of a camera
located in each exterior mirror, providing video
images of the doors and the ground alongside.
Active Blind Spot Detection: When the turn
signal is activated, this feature monitors for
vehicles that are in the driver’s blind spot or
approaching at high speed in the passing lane.
If a vehicle is detected, it warns the driver by
sending a mild vibration through the steering
wheel and displaying a visible signal in the
side-view mirror.
BMW EfficientDynamics in action: each time
you take your foot off the gas pedal, Brake
Energy Regeneration transforms the vehicle’s
kinetic energy into electricity, which is used
to charge the battery. As a result, the battery
draws less power from the engine, effectively
reducing fuel consumption. Whenever this
happens, a blue indicator in the tachometer
lights up.
Lane Departure Warning feature alerts the
driver by discreetly vibrating the steering wheel
if the vehicle crosses lane markings without
using the directional signal.
Requires clearly de nable lane markings that are not obscured
by rain, snow, etc. Lane Departure Warning feature is not a
substitute for the driver’s own responsibility in maintaining
safe control of the vehicle.
