SPECTRAPULSE™ UWB WIRELESS MICROPHONE SYSTEM
Audio-Technica's new application of Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology, SpectraPulse™ UWB wireless microphone system bypasses the
increasingly congested RF bottleneck to deliver clear, intelligible audio without the performance and set-up issues associated with conventional
wireless systems. Ideal for conferences, courtrooms, corporate events and more, SpectraPulse offers up to 14 simultaneous channels that operate
without RF turf wars, frequency hunting/coordination, “white space” issues, or interference. Another SpectraPulse benefit: immunity to multipath
interference, resulting in extremely reliable performance. The inherently secure system is available with an optional encryption package that
delivers levels of security that have never before been commercially available in wireless microphone systems.
Digital Receiver Module • Designed to be ceiling-or wall-mounted, the drm141 Digital Receiver Module functions as both the
UWB receiver and antenna for up to 14 channels. It consists of three assembled components that can be used for different
mounting requirements: the main assembly, the front bezel, and the plastic rear housing. Each drm141 comes equipped
with: 25' shielded Category 5 (Cat 5) cable with RJ45 connectors for use between aci707 and drm141; ferrite bead.
Audio Control Interface • The SpectraPulse aci707 Audio Control Interface is the connection point to the audio system, and a
control platform to set the system functions. It also provides control interface points (contact closures) for interface to
external equipment. Designed to be rack-mounted, the aci707 comes equipped with: IEC power cable; seven (7) 3-pin
Phoenix-type connectors (audio outputs); two (2) 8-pin Phoenix-type connectors (control i/o connections); 8" shielded Cat 5
cable with RJ45 connectors (for linking two aci707 units together).
Boundary Microphone Transmitter • The SpectraPulse mtu101 Boundary Microphone Transmitter unit is equipped with a soft-
touch switch that can be programmed for push-to-talk, push-to-mute, or toggle operation; on/off switch; channel address
selector; LEDs indicating power/mute and link status; low-battery warning. Each mtu101 includes AA Alkaline batteries (2
batteries per transmitter) for set-up.
XLR mic base with built-in transmitter.
Body-pack • The SpectraPulse® mtu301 Body-pack Transmitter allows speakers the flexibility to transmit audio as they move
throughout the entire SpectraPulse coverage area. The mtu301 can be used with Audio-Technica Wireless Essentials® lavalier
and headworn microphones. The unit provides bias voltage for electret condenser microphones. It offers rugged metal
housing, an on/off switch, a mute switch, and LEDs indicating power/mute and link status as well as low-battery warning.
Operates using 2 standard alkaline or NiMH rechargeable AA batteries. A minimum of two drm141’s are required for
operation.
The chg001 is a wall charger for SpectraPulse mtu301 body-pack transmitters using rechargeable AA Nickel Metal Hydride
(NiMH) batteries. It is able to charge one unit (equipped with NiMH batteries) in about 6 hours. LED shows charging status.
The chg001 comes equipped with 2 rechargeable AA NiMH batteries.
Receiver Coordinator Unit • The SpectraPulse rcu104 Receiver Coordinator Unit is a 1U rack mounting unit that receives the
data streams from up to four drm141 Digital Receiver Modules and creates a single data stream that can be interpreted by up
to two linked aci707 Audio Control Interface devices. By allowing use of multiple Digital Receiver Modules, the rcu104
expands coverage area and boosts the robustness of the UWB connection. The rcu104 also allows adjacency, permitting two
audio systems in adjacent rooms to share a single SpectraPulse system. For each connected drm141, the rcu104 Receiver
Coordinator Unit also manages Ultra Wideband pulse timing, data coming from the aci707, and the correct programming of
encryption keys.
Receiver Coordinator Unit & two Digital Receiver Modules • Designed for basic installations, the rcudrm2 includes one rcu104
Receiver Coordinator Unit and two drm141 Digital Receiver Modules. The addition of a second drm to a SpectraPulse system
expands coverage area and enhances microphone/transmitter performance.
Receiver Coordinator Unit & three Digital Receiver Modules • Used for large rooms and complex installations, the rcudrm3
includes one rcu104 Receiver Coordinator Unit and three drm141 Digital Receiver Modules. A 3-drm SpectraPulse system
increases robustness of the Ultra Wideband connection, expands the UWB coverage area, and enhances microphone/
transmitter performance.
Receiver Coordinator Unit & four Digital Receiver Modules • Ideal for large spaces, adjacent rooms and other complex instal-
lations, the rcudrm4 includes one rcu104 Receiver Coordinator Unit and four drm141 Digital Receiver Modules. A 4-drm
system permits two audio systems in side-by-side rooms to share a single SpectraPulse system; up to 14 mtu’s (total, in all
rooms) can be used at one time.
