Your Audi also bears our mark
of special efficiency.
Our vehicles embody not only sportiness,
progress and technical innovations, but also the
intelligent use of resources.
An example: the aluminium hybrid construction.
This lightweight technology, which until now has
been applied predominantly to sports car
manufacturing, delivers greater agility and thus
increased efficiency with reduced consumption.
Another example: the TDI engines with common
rail technology. Through the combination of
direct injection and a turbocharger, they provide for
highly efficient combustion of diesel fuel. The TFSI
engines are equally impressive thanks to increased
power and torque coupled with lower consumption.
Audi engines have been consistently refined for a
number of years. This means that they are more
powerful than ever before – with less weight and
thus reduced consumption. An impressive proof of
our strategy to derive more output from less
displacement. The stop-start system and
recuperation also provide for greater efficiency.
The dual-clutch transmission S tronic makes ideal
use of the high-torque Audi engines: Its large
transmission ratio spread allows it to accelerate
strongly even at low engine speeds. This reduces
fuel consumption.
The thermal management, which purposely
distributes heat between the engine, transmission
and interior, shortens the engine arm-up period
and reduces engine and transmission friction
respectively. The Audi drive select efficiency mode
helps you to tap additional savings potential.
Outstanding progressive qualities are evident in
the forward-looking hybrid technology of the
Audi A6 hybrid and the intelligent cylinder-on-
demand technology of the Audi S6.
You see, the Audi A6 and S6 models feature a
whole range of technologies that will make your
journey not only more comfortable and dynamic,
but more efficient, too. Find out more on the next
few pages.
