Using several different Vodafone devices manufactured by ZTE (eg. K3565-Z, K3520-Z
and K3765-Z) on the same Mac may cause a ‘SIM not detected’ error message to be
shown. Workaround: reboot your Mac when the message is shown, or before switching
devices.
Also, when switching from a different ZTE device to the K2525-Z, you may have to
enter your PIN twice.
The following devices can prevent your Mac from going into Standby when they are
connected to the internet: K3520-Z, K3565-Z, K3765-Z, K4505-Z.
Mobile Phones:
The Nokia E65, N81, N80, N73 and N76 and LG Renoir are not supported on Mac OS
X 10.7 Lion
RIM devices do not support 64-bit Kernel mode on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
The following mobile phones will prevent your Mac from going into standby when they
are connected via USB:
Samsung SGH-L810V
Samsung SGH-U900
Samsung SGH-U700
Vodafone 725
Vodafone 830
Vodafone 810
Nokia 6288 (sometimes).
LG KM900 ‘Arena’: please set the mobile phone USB connection settings to 'ISync',
otherwise the phone will not be recognised.
LG KP270 ‘Pyrope’ or LG KF310 ‘Makalu’: please set the mobile phone USB
connection settings to ‘PC Suite’, otherwise the phone will not be recognised.
The following devices do not support Prepay balance check, Voucher TopUp, or Own
number retrieval, because they do not support USSD:
Samsung Argo 4
SGH-ZV10
SGH-ZV60
RIM BlackBerry Storm 9520
Manual network selection causes some phones to switch to ‘2G Only’ or ‘3G Only’
modes. If you then want to select a network manually, only 2G or 3G networks will be
shown, not both.
Workaround: to see all networks again, switch the ‘Network Type’ manually on the
mobile phone.
The Vodafone Mobile Broadband application’s Network Preference is currently not
supported by many mobile phones. The following issues also affect some of the phones
that do support the Network Preference:
o Huawei: always displays the same text when trying to get the current
network type; does not support the ’no band change‘ parameter in the
network selection command.
o Samsung: devices do not report the network type that was selected, eg. 3G
Preferred, but the network the device is currently connected to, eg. 2G.
Some mobile phones display background operations on their screens, eg. Own number
retrieval or Prepay account balance check, and show any resulting errors as well. This
behaviour is dependent on the firmware version installed on the phone. The display
cannot be suppressed, and should just be ignored.
If you unplug a U700V while a mobile connection is open, your Mac may crash.
