3. Requirements

TheManagedSwitchprovidesremotelogininterfaceformanagement.Thefollowing

equipment is necessary for further management.

 Workstation running Windows XP/2003/Vista/Windows 7, MAC OS X, Linux,

Fedora,Ubuntuorotherplatform.

 Serial Port Connection (Terminal)

TheaboveWorkstationwithCOMPort(DB9)orUSB-to-RS-232converter.

 The above Workstation is installed with terminal emulator, such as Hyper

TerminalincludedinWindowsXP/2003.

 Serialcable:one end is attached to the RS-232 serial port; theother end to

theConsoleportoftheManagedSwitch.

 Ethernet Port Connection

 TheaboveWorkstationisOScompatiblewithTCP/IPprotocols.

 TheaboveWorkstationisinstalledwithEthernetNIC(NetworkCard)

 Networkcables-Usestandardnetwork(UTP)cableswithRJ-45connectors.

 The above Workstation is installed with WEB Browser and JAVA runtime envi-

ronmentPlug-in

It is recommended to use Internet Explore 7.0 or above to access

the Managed Switch. If the Web interface of the Managed Switch

is not accessible, please turn off the anti-virus software or firewall

andthentryitagain.
