Special Legends
Followthisprocedure:
1. Basic Keyboard.Formulatethepartnumber
withtheexceptionofthelegendsufx.
2. Mounting. Standard mounting isshownin
our dimensional drawings.These drawings
relatetheterminallocationtothebuttonlegend
orientation.Itispossibletorotatethebutton
legends by 90°, changing the orientation.
Whenmountingthekeypad,itwouldberotated
90°tohavethelegendsappearupright.A3x4
keypadthusbecomesa4x3.
3. Color.Manycolors,otherthanourstandard
black housing, are available. Buttons can
be made from equivalent plastic in black,
red,green,blue andyellow.White legends
areusedwithdarkcolorbuttons,blackwith
light ones.Othercolorsavailableonspecial
order.
4. Buttons.Legendscanbeprintedonbutton
surfaceandprotected bya snap-oncapin
a similar fashion to our insertable legend
types. A secondoption is printing a‘blank’
button.(Onethathasthesamedimensions
asamolded-inlegendbuttonwithaattop
surface.)Disadvantageislegendwearover
time. A third option is molded-in legends,
usuallyrequiringtooling.Moldedbuttonsare
availablewithaatorconcavetopsurface.
5. Legends.Specifythelegendrequirements
for each button. Identify buttons per our
dimensionaldrawings.Cautionifkeypadhas
beenrotated.
