Have the unit repaired by your authorized
service dealer.
D
Keep the extension co rd clear of operator and
obstacles at all times. Do not expose cords to
heat, oil, water , or sharp edges.
D
Avoid any body contact with any grounded
conductor , such as metal fences, or pipes, to
avoid the po ssibility of electr ic sho ck. Dont
handle plug or unit with wet hands.
D
Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If
powerhead is not working as it should, has
been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or
dropped into water, return it to your autho-
rized service dealer for repair .
D
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI)
protection should be provided on thecircuit
or outlet to be used for thepowerhead. Re-
ceptacles are available having built-in
GFCI protection and may be used for this
measure of safety.
DOUBLE INSULATION
CONSTRUCTION
Your powerhead should be double insulated
to help protect against electric shock. Double
insulation construction consists of two sepa-
rate “layers of electrical insulation instead of
grounding. Tools and appliances built with a
double insulation system are not intended to
be grounded.Safety precautions must be ob-
served when operating any electrical tool.
The double insulation system only provides
added protection against injury resulting from
an internal electrical insulation failure.
W ARNING:
All repairs to an electric
powerhead, including housing, switch, motor ,
etc., must bediagnosedandrepairedbyqual-
ified service personnel. Replacement parts
foradoubleinsulated appliancemust be iden-
tical to the parts they replace. A double insu-
lated appliance is marked with the words
“double insulation” or double insulated”. The
symbol
(squarewithin a square) may also
be marked on the appliance. Failure to have
the unit repaired by your authorized service
dealer can cause the double insulation con-
struction to become ineffective and result in
serious injury.
BLOWER SAFETY
W ARNING:
Never put hands or other
objects into blower housing to avoid serious
injury from the rotating impeller.
W ARNING:
Inspect the area before
using the unit. Remove all debris and hard
objects such as rocks, glass, wire, etc., that
can ricochet, be thrown, or otherwise cause
injury or damage during operation.
S
Inspect attachment before each use for
worn, loose, missing, ordamagedparts.Do
not use until unit is in proper working order.
S
Keep outside surfaces free from oil and
fuel.
S
Never start or run engine inside a closed
room, building or other unventilated area.
Breathing exhaust fumes can kill.
S
Avoid dangerous environments. Do not
use in unventilated areas or where explo-
sive vapors or carbon monoxide build--up
could be present.
S
Do not set unit on any surface except a
clean, hard area while engine is running.
Debris such as gravel, sand, dust, grass,
etc. could be picked up by theair intakeand
thrown out through discharge opening,
damaging unit, property, orcausing serious
injury to bystanders or operator.
S
Do not overreach or use from unstablesur-
faces such as ladders, trees, steep slopes,
rooftops, etc.Keepfirm footingandbalance
at all times.
S
Never place objects inside the discharge
opening; always direct the blowing debris
away frompeople, animals, glass, andsolid
objects such as trees, automobiles, walls,
etc. The forceof aircan causerocks, dirt,or
sticks to be thrown or to ricochet which can
hurt people or animals, break glass, or
cause other damage.
S
Check air intake opening frequently. Keep
vents and discharge opening free of debris
which can accumulate and restrict proper
air flow.
S
Neve r place any object in air intake open ing
as this could restrict proper air flow andcause
damage to the unit.
S
Never use for spreading chemicals, fertiliz-
ers, orother substanceswhich may contain
toxic materials.
S
To avoid spreading fire, do not use near leaf
or brush fires, fireplaces, barbecue pits,
ashtrays, etc.
S
Wear hearing protection.
S
Use only in daylight or good artificial light.
S
Use only for jobs explained in this manual.
