Body
The tailgate of the Touareg is divided into two
parts, consisting of an individual flip-up rear
window and the tailgate itself.
Two pairs of gas shock absorbers ensure
comfortable opening and closing of the rear
window and the tailgate; these are attached to
the body so that they are invisible
from the outside.
The rear window and the tailgate are
reconnected by a locking mechanism
when they come into contact.
