Electro-Voice’s EX23 electronic crossover is the
marriage of excellent audio performance, necessary fea-
tures and incredible value. It has all the essential features
needed in a crossover and has the perfomance of units that
cost significantly more.
EX23’s fourth-order, 24-dB-per-octave Linkwitz-
Riley filters keep all drivers in polarity and offer excellent
protection from damage by out-of-band signals.
Its unique mono subwoofer output sums the inputs to
mono, has sweepable frequencies from 60 to 250
Hz, and provides infrasonic filtering. EX23 can
be used as a stereo three-way if a mono LF sec-
tion is acceptable.
A built-in infrasonic filter at 30 Hz prevents
the wasting of amplifier power and over-excursion
at low frequencies.
Each channel on the EX23 has input level controls,
separate output level controls for the low and high
outputs and mutes on each output to make setup
simple. System setup is simple and straightforward.
All of the EX23’s inputs and outputs are active
balanced to minimize potential interference in hookups.
There is also a ground lift switch that helps get rid of
troublesome ground loops.
