Instructions – Final Draft
How to Replace Rear Brake Shoes on a 1992-1995 Buick LeSabre.
Tools Needed:
Lug Wrench Jack
Jack Stands 2 – Flat Head Screwdrivers
Brake Wash Safety Goggles
Gloves Needle Nose Pliers
Brake Shoes Large, ball peen hammer - optional
Instructions:
1. Park the LeSabre on flat ground. Make sure that the emergency brake is on and the car is in
“Park.”
2. Using the lug wrench, loosen the lug nuts on the rear tires so that you will not need to apply a
great deal of force to remove them when the car is up on the jack stands. For specific
instructions in removing tires and safety precautions, please refer the owner's manual.
3. Jack the rear of the car up and place a jack stand underneath the outer frame of the car on each
side. You can look in your owner's manual for the exact position. Slowly lower the car onto the
jack stands.
4. Finish loosening and remove the lug nuts from the rear wheels. From this point on, work on the
brakes one side at a time. Remove both brake drums so that one side can serve as a frame of
